Lighthouses have a very intense light and can illuminate for miles and miles... The old El Rompido Lighthouse had a lighting range of 16 miles, or what is the same, just over 25 kilometers!

Because one lighthouse was needed to illuminate the north and another to illuminate the south.
Because over time, the first 13-meter lighthouse was replaced by a new, much taller 31-meter one to illuminate farther away: the light reached as far as Huelva!
